Welcome to the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) submission portal. Here, you can apply for our CERP/CERPIT program, submit continuing education credits (CECs), get pre-approval for continuing education events, and upgrade from CERPIT to CERP status.

We are now accepting year-round applications. However reviews are focused after the windows close in October and April. Your application may not be reviewed until the next application window.

We recommend that you take the online e-learning course first to refresh your memory on the terminology that you might see in this application. The e-learning course is available here at our site hosted by Intuto.

Please note that CERPITs must meet either knowledge OR experience qualifications found at www.ser.org/cerpapplications.  Also, note that the PLAR provision is not applicable for CERPIT applications.

Thank you for submitting your application to be a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner-in-Training!

We will be confirming your status with Niagara College to facilitate your application.  The application fee has already been paid for by Niagara College.  

In addition to this application, you will need to complete the e-learning course.  It is available on our Intuto site




This form is for current CERPITs to upgrade to CERP status.  

This form is for current CERPs/CERPITs to submit continuing education credits for approval.  A maximum of 10 CECs can be provided for a single event. Once approved, SER will upload your CECs to your journal for you.

Review process: Submitted applications are reviewed by the Certification Program Coordinator and the SER Continuing Education Committee.  

Tracking CECs:  Once credits have been approved for individual CERPs/CERPITs, SER staff will upload them quarterly or bi-annually to your member journal so that you can track your status.  You will need to earn 50 CECs over the 5 year period in order to renew your certification (min. 5 CECs earned each year).

This form is for pre-approval of continuing education offerings by organizations/sponsors.  Pre-approvals may be used for recurring courses over a 2 year period.  The maximum credits provided for a single event is 10 CECs.  

Review process: Submitted applications are reviewed by the Certification Program Coordinator and the SER Continuing Education Committee.  

Promotion: Pre-approved CEC offerings are added to the SER event calendar, the SER certification program pre-approved course list, and are provided a CERP program logo to use in promotion of the offering.
